Voices of the Boyne - Privacy Policy Effective date: 19 September 2025 Publisher: LoGaCulture Overview Voices of the Boyne is a locative augmented reality game created as part of the LoGaCulture project at Trinity College Dublin. This Policy explains what data the app collects, why we use it, how it is stored and shared, and the choices available to you. What we do NOT collect - We do NOT collect personal identifiers such as name, email, phone number, or user account credentials. - We do NOT require sign-in; play is anonymous. What we DO collect - Location data (device GPS / location when the app is in use) - required for locative gameplay and spatial audio positioning. - Motion sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope) - used for head-tracking and other spatial audio / AR functionality. - Bluetooth metadata when you enable connection to an external sensor - used only to support connected hardware features. - Analytics & diagnostics (anonymous) - usage metrics, crash reporting, session data, and aggregated event logs via third-party analytics tools. Why we collect this data We use the data only to enable gameplay features (location & motion), improve the app (analytics), and support optional connected sensors. Location and motion data are core to the game experience; disabling them will restrict gameplay. Third-party services - Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics & crash reporting) - Unity Analytics (usage events) Storage & retention - We do not store personal user accounts or personally-identifying information on our own servers. - Analytics and diagnostics data are retained by third-party services. Children - The app is playable by children. Parents/guardians should supervise children outdoors. - We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Your choices - Disable location or motion: can be disabled in device settings (but limits gameplay). - Disable Bluetooth: only external sensor features will be affected. - Opt out of analytics: contact us for options.
